Course Description: This course is designed to equip students with the technologies necessary to understand and create interactivity in online environments.

Objectives: The primary goal of this course is to strengthen your understanding of interactive digital technologies, their design and construction, and their impact on culture and society. Among other things, we will explore:

  • The history of the Internet and interactive technologies
  • The impact of interactive technologies on society
  • The intersections and juxtapositions of new technologies, critical thinking, and problem solving
  • The ways in which interactive scripting can enhance the online experience
  • The ways in which interactivity can be achieved using technologies including CSS, Javascript, XML, XSL, Flex, Actionscript, RSS, among others
